CA Homeopath CoverWelcome to The California Homeopath

An Online Forum for the Exploration of Homeopathic Theory, Philosophy & Practice

The California Homeopath is the Journal of the California Homeopathic Medical Society.  The Journal was founded in 1882 by Dr. William Boericke and Dr. W.A. Dewey.  Published in San Francisco, the bimonthly journal existed under this name until 1892, when it was replaced by The Pacific Coast Journal of Homeopathy. The California Homeopath was revived in 2006, co-edited by Richard Pitt CCH and Premananda Childs.  Our first online edition was released in January 2009.

November 2007. Unity in Diversity: Exploring Various Styles & Methods of Practice (Vol. 12, #1)

Homeopathy has always been challenged in its definition and methodology. This is perhaps inevitable as it embraces a much more complex and subjective interpretation of human health than the tenets of reductionistic science. Embracing this complexity though creates challenges in establishing a “system” which can be identified as homeopathy. This edition of the journal is dedicated to this topic, ideally creating a frame- work in which the tensions within our system can be explored in an open and expe- riential way, respecting the individual experiences and perspectives that each of us brings to the practice of homeopathy and at the same time seeking the common ground that defines us as homeopaths.
